I'll start off by saying that I hated the first "Grudge" with a passion. It was only BRIEFLY decent because of Sarah Michelle Gellar, but let the truth be told, even she couldn't save the horrid movie. Now that's bad, huh? Well with "The Grudge 2", things only get worse...
I wanted to stay as far away from "The Grudge 2" as possible, but my girlfriend called me and told me that she wanted to see it. Personally, I would've rather seen "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning", but since I'm only 16, I can only get into PG-13 rated movies by myself. So I took my girlfriend to see "The Grudge 2". As I knew before even seeing it, it sucked... Hard. Even my girlfriend hated it, but I can't blame her for wanting to see a new movie to get by on a Sunday night.
"The Grudge 2" stars Amber Tamblyn, Arielle Kebbel, Teresa Palmer, Misako Uno, and Sarah Michelle Gellar in a smaller role. The main reason why I hated the first "Grudge" is because of the way the plot was set up. It had two different stories. The first, and main story, was about Karen (Gellar) who went to look after the sick Emma Williams, thus falling into the wrath of The Grudge. The second story was about the Williams family who first move into the cursed house. I hated it because the two stories were jammed together at once and I didn't know what was happening when, where, and why. It was all just patchy, blotchy, crappy, choppy, and all over the place... Not to mention the cheap 'wannabe' scares, none of which I found scary.
With "The Grudge 2", you don't have to strain yourself by trying to connect two confusing stories... No, no, no, no, no! You get the pleasure of straining yourself by trying to connect *THREE* confusing stories, all much more confusing than the first "Grudge". The first story is about Aubrey (Tamblyn) who plays Karen's (Gellar) younger sister who invesigates the cursed house, even after Karen tells her not to. DURP! The second story is about three school girls (Kebbel, Palmer, and Uno) who roam around in the cursed house for fun and become cursed. DURP! The third story is about this Chicago family. As with the first "Grudge", "The Grudge 2" is patchy, blotchy, crappy, choppy, and all over the place, with even more cheap 'wannabe' scares. Now I'll admit, I jumped a lot more than once, but loud music doesn't make a horror movie scary. It's just annoying.
As for the most talked about actress in the movie, she's only in it for about 10 minutes. If you're going to see "The Grudge 2" just for Sarah Michelle Gellar, then don't bother! Save yourself the time and money! If you MUST see it for her, just wait until it's on HBO because I'm telling you, it's not worth it.
Overall, "The Grudge 2" is just as bad as the first one... I hated it with a passion. I'll admit, though, I liked Sarah Michelle Gellar's chase scene and there's more hot girls, but does that save "The Grudge 2"? No. It's just another sad excuse for a PG-13 horror movie that you should avoid at all costs.

"The Grudge 2" opens and ends in a similar way like the first "Grudge". It starts out with a beginning that makes no sense. It's supposed to be eerie, but I found it to be hilarious, much like the first "Grudge". The ending is also predictable. With the way it ends, you can expect a "Grudge 3", but I pray to God there isn't. The first two are terrible enough and I most definately will not see a 3rd one. Nope! No way!

However, I'll admit that I enjoyed Gellar's chase scene, with what she had anyway, but it was too much like Laurie Strode's in "Halloween: Resurrection". (If you see it, you'll know what I mean.) Most of you already know that Gellar gets killed in "The Grudge 2" and that's what hurt the movie the most. Truth be told, though, she couldn't even save the first "Grudge"... But you'll miss her right after she dies in the sequel.
