Thanks for asking.

Scanners and Prom Night from the bargain bin. Haven't seen either since their theatrical releases 20 plus years ago.

$6 Aussie - not much more than renting the damn thing. Scanners was $10 but I do remember loving that film.

Just picked up Abel Ferrera's King Of New York in a nice 2-disc special edition DVD package for only $10.00. I can't wait to see it. After seeing Driller Killer and Bad Lieutenant, this one should be good as well. Plus it has Christopher Walken, so thats a plus.

I know very little about this film - I love Bad Lieutentant, and Driller Killer is, er, interesting if a touch undergraduate at times... and Christopher Walken rocks. Tell me more. Personally just picked up (and have been having a good run on the bargain bins here) the Sex Pistols' Great Rock and Roll Swindle special edition for A$12... am saving this one until next month when I get a decent sound system hooked up.

It's great toad. I just got done watching King Of New York with my uncle and we both loved it. Christopher Walken plays a crime lord fresh out of prison who is trying to regain his position in organized crime and stuff while taking everyone else out. It's great.

I think King of New York is one of the lesser Ferrara films, but it is still quite a lot of fun. It just lacks some of the depth of Ferrara's best work and serves as a fairly straight forward action film.
The Great Rock n Roll Swindle is a great time. I think you'll love it (assuming this will be your first viewing). Have you seen The Filth and the Fury yet, Toad? It was directed by the same guy who directed Swindle, but was done without Malcolm Mclaren controlling all of the content, so it gives a more accurate picture of the history of the band. THat said, you can't go wrong with either one of them as the music is obviously great in both and that's the big draw

Seen Swindle a number of times, but not for many years, and objected to paying $30 plus for it, so when I saw a special edition at a deep discount I had to grab it. And yes, Mrs T and I saw Filth and the Fury in the cinema. I also have a copy of that in my shelves, again waiting for a sound system to do it justice. Sigh.

The sound system will be a nice addiion, but I wouldn't let it keep you from watching the films. Aftger all, live Pistols recordings are decidedly lo-fi items
