Anyone out there seen or heard of any half decent new Sci-Fi coming our way? Sure there been the likes of V for Vendetta, but a toad would kill for a good old fashioned space opera, or some nasty alien bugs. Anything in the offing?

"Children of Men" is out now toadie.
Probably not what you'd normally class as 'definitive' sci-fi, but it looked interesting nonetheless.

Yeah I've read a lot about this one and it looks superb. Mrs T and I are off to see it next weekend. The SMH and the Australian both raved about it on Saturday.
Would still love, however, some good, non-cerebral lasers and green blood action.

That and Starship Troopers. Though on the subject of Aliens I picked up an R4 9 disc box set for $A49 recently - a disc each for theatrical and directors cuts of all films and packed with extras.

I recently watched Serenity-a rousing sci-fi adventure that pleased. Check it out if you haven't seen it. I know its not 'new' new, but best I could come up with.

Check it out, its worth it, especially now that there is the film to expand upon it a bit. It was axed pretty quickly, and they didn't do right by it, aired episodes out of order and the like. FOX didn't give it a chance at all. But very smart, entertaining show. Anyway, I know Scifi was showing it for awhile. Not sure if they still are or not.

Serenity actually left me a bit cold, and I'm still not really sure why. Just couldn't engage with it. Reently I have been huntig down old ones like 12 Monkeys and Fifth Element
