Ugh, I keep forgetting that there's five vocalists and 4 with a 'D' for their last name, not just four vocalists total. Have to add the last of them, Dirkschneider.
Silent Gods De Profundis The Emptiness Within
Excellent UK Black/Death Metal for those who wish Opeth would stop utilizing clean vocals and go back to their growling style more often, eerily similar stuff here.

No, not really. Just as long as they don't start making every album with clean vocals. Don't really like Black Metal, except for certain bands. I think Scandinavian bands should use another term for their music. Venom, that's true Black Metal.

Ugh, we're gonna go back to the name thing again? It's irrelevant, care about the music more. If you find that you don't like the bands in that style, then you don't like the music it's that simple.
And I don't think Venom is what you would call 'True' Black Metal. They're a proto-band at best, as the riff-work is way too much Traditional Heavy Metal without that icy atmosphere and speed you find in the early Norwegian groups, and the vocals are all wrong, there's none of that demonic/possessed shrieking you find in the greats like Garm (Gorgoroth), Dead (the first Mayhem EP, 'Deathcrush'), Fenriz (DarkThrone) and Attila Csihar ('De Mysteriis dom Sathanas') which are more of what's found in actual Black Metal bands. Venom would still be there in the genre, but it's sorta like a Psycho/TCM situation: Psycho's the granddaddy of the genre, TCM started it off. Venom would be Psycho, Mayhem would be TCM. Mayhem wouldn't be around if it weren't for Venom, but Mayhem is were it starts and got all the characteristics down. The frosty, icy riffwork, tortured vocals, morbid lyrics, raw, garage-band style production, it's all there in Mayhem, and to a lesser extent other early practioners Bathory and Sarcofago, but Mayhem would be the starting point.

Wow, okay I definitely screwed up that last post of mine. The first paragraph was supposed to be asking you what you have against the term 'Black Metal' CS, as you seemed to imply that the tag for the genre was the problem. That's what I was going on about in the first part of my last post, so sorry about that CS.

Nailbomb - entertaining Max Cavalera side project from the Sepultura days. Some solid industrial elements here. Very much worth listening to, especially if you are a fan of Sepultura and/or Ministry
Ministry Relapse - The new record is damn good. And, though the US dates are over, I saw them in NYC back in June and they put on a spectacular a live show as ever.
Nick Cave and the Badseeds THe Boatman's Call- If you like Nick Cave you've heard this already. If you aren't familiar with him, this is as good a place to start as any.

Hey, CS, let's keep this solely to the music, all right? If you're not listening to music or have something to say about another's listening habits, don't post anything. It's the Music section, afterall. Scabs and Boils Aborted Global Flatline I don't think I've ever heard them this focused, this tight, this expressive since their early days. About as brutal as they've ever been, and it's fascinating listening to them grown up and evolved over time.

Well, if it was I'll bite my tongue, but it should still be said anyway.
Give Me the Night DragonForce The Power Within
I think we can add them now to the bands that made a vocalist change and haven't gone downhill following the switch, as this is a welcome change. Gone are the 7 and 8-minute songs (there's only 1, this time around) but the cramming of their traditional style into the shorter stuff makes it much more exciting. Pretty fun stuff overall.
