My introduction to them and still an awesome watch. Great setlist, fantastic stage-performance, and some really great times. A great blind buy.

One of my favorite movies of all time is Almost Famous which I think any fan of late 60s, early 70s rock would love.
Two great album based movies I like which have already been mentioned here are Tommy and The Wall.
Tommy by The Who is a favorite album of mine.

Yeah, Velvet Goldmine is a lot of fun. Ewan MacGregor doesn't quite get Bowie's mannerisms as completely as I would like (being a huge Bowie fan and all), but the film generally is a pretty good summary of the issues that brought about glam rock (not glam metal, for those who think all glam sucked).
