I have never been good at writing poems, and readily admit that mine are nothing special, but I found a couple of these old political poems I wrote last year for my creative writing class and decided to share them here. Hugo Chavez A socialist liberator was elected president in 1998
He aided the poor majority of the state,
Creating missions and land reforms
His socialist ways brought U.S. storms
A CIA sponsored coup failed
This man was not going to be jailed
He declared that the FTAA was dead
He chose to fight neocolonialism instead
His work continues today,
And his socialist efforts in Venezuela are there to stay
Costs Of Blind Patriotism Innocent people die
Government officials lie
Privacy is invaded
Countries are invaded
Democracy lies
Democracy dies
These are the costs of blind patriotism
Bombs Cities full of life
Death falls from the blue skies above
Everything has been stolen
