Price, Cushing and Lee are still my top favorites for best horror actor, mainly because they're in good films rather than anything to do with acting ability.

Yes, they have been in some grat films. They certainly have been in their fair share of stinkers like all genre actors, though.
I hope that I will be able to pass on my love for horror, but you should see the discussion that goes on in my house if I even suggest watching a black and white film. Needless to say, I imagine that my children and successive generations will be even less interested in the classics

I saw a teaser trailer a while back and was about 50-50 impressed from what I saw it looked extremely violent which was great but hearing Haley's voice as Freddy was just wrong and it instantly reminded me that this is a remake. Hopefully that won't carry over when I actually see it in the theatre. This will actually be the first stand alone Nightmare movie I see in the theatre.

I would never condemn a horror movie as i strongly believe that Satan adores all forms of evil and darkness that his loyal follwers bestow upon the world, HOWEVER, this movie will not be nearly as good as the original simply because Robert Englund was so great as Freddie. It's nothing against Harley as he is a fine actor, but i really can't see him as Freddie. On the other hand, i can't criticise it until i have watched it so i will give it a chance, but im not optimistic.

Hmmm, does Satan enjoy sticking toothbrushes up people's asses as much as Spiderman aparently does, razor?
In the short time that I've known you, you went from advocating extreme and intolerant Christianity to this satanic nonsense that indicates that you have never even bothered to read up on any of the views of LaVey or the rest of the Church of Satan.
Why don't you try something a lot more moderate in your approach? Don't feel as strongly about fundamentalist christian views anymore? Glad to hear it. I'm with you. BUt why not try tolerance or patience before you shoot all the way over into another extreme. It is silliness like that which makes atheists like me all the more sure we are right. After all, how can you have beliefs strong enough to be worthy of shaping your life around them and then just change them on a whim?
As for the NOES remake, I would sooner buy tickets to see the Jonas Brothers blowing eachother than I would this abortion of a film

Might wanna start we the actual origins of the concept of Satan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SatanPay particular attention to the top potion of the article. In short Satan was an angel, not a demon, and not even evil. In any case just remember "Abraxas speaketh that hallowed and accursed word which is good and evil at the same time."

I'm really looking forward to this flick. I'm not one who can only see Freddy being played be Robert Englund. Sure, he was great, but that doesn't mean he's the only one that can pull it off. I mean, look at the Dracula character. Lugosi was the original, and in my opinion, still the best. But I don't think anyone can argue that Christopher Lee was amazing in the role as well. I think Frank Langella did a fine job too. If A Nightmare on Elm Street is anything like the other old movies (Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, etc.), Haley won't be the last to portray Freddy Krueger...and I'm fine with that.

Yeah but Dracula is more of a generic horror movie character, so it lends itself to many people being able to play the role. Personally I think Max Schreck was the best Dracula.

He was definitely creepy in the role.

I've never been fond of Lugosi personally since I thought his version sucked (see the Mexican one shot at the same time, it's eons, eons better than the English one, it just doesn't have the name factor like Lugosi behind it so no one knows of it, which is pure bullshit) and I loved Lee's takes far, far better.

Count Orlok is the characters name, the actors name was Max Schreck
Maximilian "Max" Schreck (6 September 1879 – 20 February 1936)
The only reason he wasn't called Dracula is because the director could not get he rights to the novel, so he just changed the name and made the movie different from the book.
Bram Stoker's widow ordered that all copies of the film Nosferatu be destroyed, one print was smuggled out and thats the only reason why the film still exists.
