It's shitty when a team leaves, but new York sports fans have so much to be happy about, it's pretty ridiculous for them to still be crying about the giants and the dodgers decades upon decades later. And back then there was a legitimate need for teams to move west. I won't say it was always done in the fairest way, but get over it.

Exactly. At the time, the farthest Western team was Cincinnati, yet New York has four teams? Move 'em out! And besides, with them coming west coinciding with the expansions in 61 and 62, you have to have a bunch more teams around the country in order to make a truly widespread game. Having it so collected as it were on that small section of the country is more of a problem than it appears to be.

You're right, but the Dodgers weren't simply another New York team. They were Brooklyn's team. And they left at the same time that the manufacturing jobs that had sustained Brooklyn for generations also started to dissappear. It was really devastating for that community and helped to precipitate its decline into poverty. Not to mention, it put an end to Ebbets Field, which should have been one of the landmark ballparks like Wrigley, Fenway, or the original Yankee Stadium considering its history.
Anyway, man, the expansion of the game out west was a good thing, but that doesn't make it any nicer for the fans who lost out. Cleveland has a football team again, but go ahead and ask them if they've forgivien Art Modell or embraced the Baltimore Ravens recently. It just isn't ever gonna happen.

I don't know, I personally don't think the expansion out west was a good thing. I couldn't care less about football expansion because I find that to be a mindless, boorish affair that I could do without. I would, however, like to see an expansion of soccer in America - but I feel like this is a desire which will never come true.
As for the 2010 season, please just don't bring up the Red Sox.

I was down on soccer most my life but I catch it on tv occasionally now and it's grown on me. It does deserve more exposure here and the rest of the world can't all be wrong. So many kids play it and love it these days from grade school to high school to college that it may have a future yet.
It did happen in an unfair way and Brooklyn did get screwed. Legitimate point.
Cleveland fans need to get over it as well, especially since they have their franchise back and retained the original franchise history. They had every right to be pissed but that's history. And I think the Ravens have turned into a nice addition to the afc north. Besides it makes the browns ravens games more fierce and interesting.

If the Mets that equalled the greatest home stand in franchise history show up you will have problems. On the other hand, if the Mets that just got themselves absolutely embarassed two days in a row by the Phillies show up, you are guranteed a victory

That's going to be a good series, CT. Despite being embarrassed (which most teams going up against The Good Doctor are going to look like, regardless of team quality) the Mets are indeed looking good, and the Reds are on a roll right now, so that will be a lot of fun. That will be a good series.

Ha, so far I was right. Game 1 in the series was a thrilling extra-inning affair that had it all: power, defense, speed, great pitching and clutch-work on both sides. I said it was going to be good, and I was right.

Game 2, another game with more late-inning dramatics and earlier dominated with more of what I talked about yesterday. So far, I've told you so, guys.

3-3, another game between you guys with late-inning heroics, second of the series that went to extra innings at that. Told you guys Mets-Reds was going to be a good series.

Reds had a good weekend. And a perfect game happened in the MLB as well!

I saw that, against Tampa Bay no less. But here's a thing hardly anyone's been mentioning: it was the same pitcher who called out A-Rod a few weeks ago when he walked across the mound. Same dude.

Hey CT, congrats on your team. Complete game one-hitter for his first career complete game? Big moment there, and you're solidly in second place as well. And you were worried.
