So, does anybody have any thoughts? CT in particular, as I think you and I are the only ones who seem to like the NFL around here (apparently this board exists in an alternate universe full of bizarre Americans who hate their country and its red white and blue national passtime, peppered with some foreigners, lol).
Anyway, Bengals have Tampa Bay, who they should easily beat. The Giants have Houston, which I have already said I see as an important game for both teams, who are on the cusp of making a run at being at the top of the league, but they just aren't there yet at all. Any thoughts about other league goings on? What about New England trading Moss to the Vikings? The Chiefs suddenly and shockingly looking very competitive? Surprisingly slow starts from the Cowboys, Packers, and Colts? How your fantasy teams are doing (if you have any)? etc.

I know a lot of people are excited about the Moss trade and I could see the Vikings making the playoffs but I just don't see them as superbowl contenders myself. I'm not reading too much into the teams with quick or slow starts since we,re so early.
I didn't do any fantasy this season but how's your fantasy team faring hnt?
I'm interested to see if CK jumps on the Eagles bandwagon if they end up having a good season hehe.

What happened with the Eagles, man? I completely agree with you and I've hated them forever for obvious reasons, but I remember you being a pretty outspoken fan in the past

Im just tired of all the bullshit that surrounds them. Im tired of getting let down Im not saying I dont love the Eagles I do but Im choosing to not cheer for them until I see some big mangerial changes. How can the coach who knows what he needs to do to put together a good team also worry about money the franchise can spend. Not to mention his junkie sons a while back. I ACTUALLY ROOTED FOR THE REDSKINS LAST WEEK lol.

I agree that there are some major problems with ANdy Reid and the power that he has. That said, he's a very respectable coach, and if he were coaching anyone outside of the NFC East, I would almost certainly like him as much as I hate him now. He knows how to win with some less than stellar teams. I do think he bet wrong on Kevin Kolb, though, and would never have intended to replace McNabb with Vick.

I think we should have kept McNabb no matter who you root for you have to respect the fact that he is a great quarterback. I am not one of those dumbass south philly water cooler coaches who blame Mcnabb for all of our woes. So he will prob never win a superbowl, there are planty of great players who dont have a ring, and a lot more undeserving who do like that whiney little bitch Jeremy Shockey (sorry had to get that jab in there) Reid is a great coach but I dont agree with him wearing 2 hats, that is my major quandry with him.

Hey, I got no love for Jeremy Shockey, man. He was a great competitor on the Giants, but he was injury prone, and hasn't done nearly as much for the Saints as he appeared capable of when he was in NY. He went down half way through the Giants Superbowl season, and Kevin Boss stepped up and proved to be solid. Giants still use Kevin Boss, and I think he's fine. Shockey is a decent receiver, but aside from his injury issues, he also just doesn't wanna block at all. That said, he now has two rings. one with New Orleans and one with the Giants.
I respect McNabb as a player, though between playing for Syracuse, the Eagles, and now the Skins, he has managed to be an enemy of every team that I root for throughout his entire career and he can kiss my ass for that. I think he is an incredibly talented quarterback, but I also think that he really does not seem to play well in big game situations. The biggest mistake that Philly made was taking McNabb's side and dumping TO after the Superbowl the way they did. McNabb DID choke that game. Owens DID play a huge game while suffering from a pretty serious injury. That said, McNabb also took them to three straight NFC championship games and that is a huge achievement.
Trading McNabb was not necessarily the worst decision they could have made. if they really believed that he could not win them a Superbow, I think they do have a responsibility to the fans to rebuild the team around someone who can. Imagine how much bigger a fuck you to the fans it would be if they knew that they couldn't win with a player and kept him anyway. It doesn't say much bad about McNabb except that he got old and they liked the younger player behind him. Don't forget, Joe Montana finished his career as a Kansas City Chief. That certainly was not a slight on Montana's greatness as much as it was an opportunity to move on to another hall of fame quarterback in Steve Young. This only looks bad because Kevin Kolb is not looking as nice as they seemed to think he was. If you want to know what their real mistake was, though, it was letting McNabb go to a division rival in Washington. Strengthening a weak opponent that way was just incredibly stupid.

Oh I know he choked in the superbowl he left remnents on the field lmao!!! I think they were right in the long run for letting go of TO lets face bad karma and press follow that asshole no matter where he goes. Dont get me wrong he is a tremendous player but who needs his baggage. McNabb needed weapons the main reason Westbrook got so concussion prone was because he was the only one to give the ball to half the time. Point is I think the pigeons should tear the building down and build from scratch. Until that day LETS GO PHILLIES/FLYERS!!! [shadow=red,left,300]See what you started CT thanks buddy[/shadow]

Well, the season is underway for sure these days, and exciting as hell. Great game last night between the Vikings and Jets proved once again that Favre is a bad mofo, but also that the Jets are for real this year. After a decisive win in Houston and the Giants stringing together back to back impressive performances against respectable opponents, I think they are officially an elite team this year.
Are Dallas and Minnesota out of it already? What are your thoughts right now around the league?

Bengals looked awful AGAIN. Thank god we have a bye week now to halt the embarassment.
MNF was good, Id say Minnesota is proabably out of it especially since Favre might get suspeded for bein an old perv lol. I'd say Dallas is still in it for now...

I am starting to worry about the Bengals myself. I thought they would be alright this year based upon their performance last year, and their personnel improvements, but it just hasn't panned out and I'm not sure why. One thing's for sure, it is not T.O.'s fault. He has played well and has been a very supportive and positive team mate. I guess I just gotta throw this one back on Marvin Lewis, who would have been fired a thousand times by now by any other team I think.
I think that Minnesota's in less trouble than the Cowgirls personally. Minnesota has made some significant personnel improvements that just need an opportunity to gel and they will be fine. Dallas is drowning, in major injury trouble, and there just does not seem to be anything that can be done to save them. Also, for what its worth, I just have more faith in Brad Childress having the ability to turn a team around than Wade Phillips who I think is an absolute bum.

Yes I think it's time for Marvin Lewis to go.
You're probably right about Dallas I hadn't paid much attention to them yet this season. I guess. Could see the Vikings doing alright if Peterson has a good rest of the season.

On another note that you may or may not care about, I predict that Bill Parcells will be the coach of the 49ers next year. Mike Singletary has been awful, and Parcells is supposedly unhappy in the front office in Miami. it would be an interesting development to say the least
