LOL! I shoulda figured ya weren't squeamish with the violence part, being ahorror fan. D'oh! He does pour on the sex a bit, almost pornographic, but somewhow it fits into the story arc. Aha! Read Black Angel few months ago. Thought it was good. Even got a CD with the hardcover of some music he listens to. Lansdale is good. Quirky style, haven't read any full length novels of his yet. LOL...I don't mind sexual content eiither, I still continue to read Laurell K. Hamilton's books (don't ask me why) and those are becoming pornographic, no real plot to speak of anymore.... I read Dark Hollow by Connolly about a year ago, and I was pretty much hooked after that. I'm a big fan of mystery/suspense fiction and I also like that he adds a little bit of a supernatural flavor. As for Lansdale, I recommend The Bottoms to everyone that reads...I liked it that much....that is rare.

Reading a crap airport thriller at the moment, but just finished the new Jeffrey Deaver novel, The Cold Moon.. not bad, but nowhere as good as the Vanished Man or Blue Nowhere.
Also read Mark Billingham's Buried... best Pommy crime writer around... very gritty and visceral.

i am reading renegades by shaun hutson, i brought it with me to read on the aeroplane but only managed about 60 pages coz i had to keep my little one occupied. now i am managing to get little bits read here and there (mostly when the kids are asleep) i have read this one before but it was many years ago, shaun hutson is a great horror writer and very graphic with his descriptions.this particular story jumps around a bit but it all comes together in the end with an interesting finale.

I just started The Skin Gods by Richard Montanari. First book I have read by him, in fact, never heard of him until I ran across this book in the library. It looked interesting. Not bad so far, not great either....lol.

I am reading Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States again. I ty to look it over every few years as a reminder of the true history of this country whenever I catch myself starting to buy into the lies that are sold to us daily by our media, government, and educational system. So far I just finished reading about how Columbus' slaughter of the Arawak tribes of the Bahamas, which began the first, most effective, and least acknowledged genocide in human history. To think taht we celebrate that SOB in this country. It would be like Germans commemorating Hitler's bnirthday every year. Innexcusable really

Just started Them Bones by Carolyn Haines. Maybe it is just because I am Southern, but so far, I find it pretty damn funny. Will have to look for more mysteries by her.

Since I started moving I haven't been reading that much, and I still need to finish The Night Stalker. I have about 100 pages left. Then I can start on Truman Capote's In Cold Blood, which I picked up the other weekend.
