It does look pretty interesting. And folks, Tartan is officially gone..... From HorrorMovies.caTartan Films Is Dead Posted By : jmh314, Sunday Jun,29 Filed Under : General Horror,
A while back we reported that Tartan Films USA was having issues and were going to sell off their assets. The US offices were closed and sold off but the main Tartan Films office remained open in London. However, this appears to have been a sign of the end for the entire company as a whole as Variety reports that Tartan Films officially closed their London offices for business on Thursday. Workers reported to work on June 26th only to find the door locked. They were all later called and told the company was out for business by Tartan head Hamish McAlpine.
Tartan was opened in 1982 and has since become a major playor in the Asian horror distribution market as well as producing many films in the horror genre. Earlier this year the Tartan Films US office sold all their assets to Palisades Media Corp but since that time there has been no word on Palisades plans for the films in that library. With the closing of the main London offices it is unknown what will happen to their film library but it is expected to be sold off sometime soon. We'll keep you posted if we hear any word on who ends up with rights to all their films.
RIP Tartan Films.

From HorrorMovies.ca (follow link to view trailer) Mad Detective Trailer Posted By : Meh, Wednesday Jul,16 Filed Under : Foreign Horror, Horror Trailers,
Below you can checkout the new trailer for Mad Detective. A missing police gun is connected to a series of recent heists and murders. Its owner, WONG (LeeKwok Lun), vanished earlier while pursuing a suspect in the mountains. His partner, CHI-WAI (Lam Ka Tung), miraculously returned unharmed and the hot shot Regional Crime Unit Inspector, HO (Andy On), is in charge of the investigation.
HO knows the only chance he has in cracking the case is to ask for help from his mentor/former boss BUN (Lau Ching Wan), a gifted criminal profiler now living in seclusion with his wife MAY (Kelly Lin). BUN puts himself in the victim's place, literally, and his unorthodox approach has put doubt in HO's mind who feels betrayed when BUN's investigation goes beyond his imagination. What begins as a quest for answers has now taken a schizophrenic turn where truth and lies, reality and delusions intertwine...

Has anyone heard of Tomie? I think they're really good. Its older but I think they made seven or eight films. Close, there's actually 9: Tomie Tomie: Another Face Tomie: Replay Tomie: Re-birth Tomie: Forbidden Fruit Tomie: Beginning Tomie: Revenge Tomie vs. Tomie Tomie: Unlimited No, never have. What was that movie, 3D J-Horror film. It was like a Kung-Fu, ghost/zombie thype thing. Sounded really interesting. Sounds like they were starting up the Mr. Vampire films again with that type of scenario, but the last one was 92 or 93 if my memory's working right. Not sure how they're going to do that with Lam Ching-ying gone, but if we're getting one with that type of set-up I don't see anything in there that won't be appealing.

I've heard they were doing a 3D Ringu film - Sadako 3D. Sounds like a puzzle book to me. But technically a Ring in 3D should be called Torus.

No I dont think it was one of those, more recent, like maybe last 2-3 years. Whatever it was it was that countries first 3D film Yeah, I know what you're talking about now. It was called Amphibious, and was directed by Brian Yuzna, who was involved with the Fantastic Factory company that did 'Faust: Love of the Damned,' 'Dagon' and many more. I think that's the one you're referring to. I've heard they were doing a 3D Ringu film - Sadako 3D. Sounds like a puzzle book to me. But technically a Ring in 3D should be called Torus. I don't remember hearing about that. I know Shimizu did one called 'Rabbit Horror' that was in 3D, and so was 'The Shock Labyrinth' that he did as well, but I don't remember hearing about him doing a new Ring movie.

Amphibious is from Indonesia, CS. Last I checked that was Asian.
Thanks for the heads-up, TWD. I could've sworn Shimizu handled that new one.
