wow, this is a television series? It looks very high budget and gory for TV. I will definitely be checking it out. Thanks for the heads up

Damn it, there goes a couple movies off my Halloween viewing. Hopefully they're take up the time slots of a couple of their repeat offenders they show every year so I won't miss anything good.

I'm a little conflicted because I always have my Halloween viewing planned out. I'll probably record this, and watch it later on that week. Definitely some similarities to 28 Days Later. Its based on a series of comic books which I have heard good things about..... The Walking DeadI've been a fan of all of Darabont's Stephen King adaptations, so I am really interested to see what he does with this.

So you guys been watching?
I've been streaming them online, and I must say it's like a breath of fresh air into the zombie sub-genre,which with a couple of exceptions has left me cold over the last few years.
Save for Romero's original trilogy, I think this is the only work I've seen that truly captures how bleak and desolate the situation would be,and that's achieved by some strong characterisation that obviously goes back to the graphic novels, which I have never read.In saying that, in lesser hands it could have fallen apart, but Frank Darabont is one of the greatest talents working in the industry today. As much as I love The Stand, I can't help but think it would have been truly special if handled by Darabont.

So far, it's excellent. Great character development, the effects are surprisingly good, and it's just all around even better than I was expecting. Very impressed with this show.

Apparently the ratings have been sensational, so a second season has been greenlit.

Great show. Comparisons to 28 days later are spurious however when that film didn't have an orginal bone in its body. The "wake up in hospital to discover armageddon took place while you were sleeping" device actually originates from Day of the Triffids.

Watched the first episode last night and this is some of the best zombie horror I've ever seen. I'm amazed at the amount of violence and gore thy can show on cable these days! Looked great in HD. Hope it stays good.

One grumble. CGI blood is the curse of modern zombie films (and now TV).

Downloaded the first two episodes, watching the second one tonight. Very very good zombie stuff in there, the scene of the guying trying to shoot his wife actually got to me a bit, very unusual for a zombie series.
