Looks like it has a more serious tone than the original trilogy, that's a plus.

Well, if a trailer's out that must mean they've got something filmed from this so thankfully we're further along here than Phantasm 5 which I'm not even close to thinking will happen, so that's a head start to get me into this one. I'll keep a steady eye until I know more about this.

Sweet!! The only thing I would add is that the first film in the original trilogy had a pretty serious tone. It was the sequels that went the comedic route.

Sam Raime had a hand in the script for this, I looked it up on IMDB the characters are different no Ash no Linda but from the trailer there looks like there are some keys scenes from the original in this, Wonder how far they will take the tree rape scene.

You're expecting that scene to be included? Honestly, I hope not. Sam RAimi ws just a student when he made the original, and I've always pretty much believed that particular scene was out of place and a small sign of his immaturity as a film maker. He made a wonderful film that just didn't need that scene. In so many ways, Evil Dead 2 is almost a remake with some of that stuff excised for the better (IMHO). I'm sure it won't be in the official remake and, though I love the original, I think that will actually be a small improvement. I don't imagine the entire film will be better, but that scene was the worst part of the original.

I was talking more in the context of trying to get a sequence like that, as brutal and unpleasant as it was, past the censors not just merely including it.

I think this is going to be the best horror movie of the year. The trailers blow me away.

Holy amazeballs!! I had honestly not been paying much attention because I figured it would just be yet another unecessary remake. Not anymore. This just shot to the top of my list of most anticipated upcoming films.

I have to admit, the trailer really is awesome. I'm looking forward to it as well.

Any hopes I had of maybe catching this at the cinema appear to be dashed by the fact Sony Australia is only releasing it on a grand total of 4 screens across the country. And my nearest city - Adelaide - is not amongst them. Not happy to say the least.

My theater didn't get this, so I'll have to wait for the dvd. I'm really happy it was # 1 at the box office though.
