There's a couple of Cryptopsy songs that really stand out for me. Slit Your Guts, Crown of Horns, Graves of the Fathers, Dead and Dripping, We Bleed, And Then It Passes, Carrionshine, and The Petilence That Walketh In The Darkness are all amazing, technical grind classics. Never heard Gruesome Stuff Relish though, I'll have to check them out.

Crown of Horns and Slit Your Guts are among the top ones for me, but since I always just listen to everything randomly, it really doesn't get a chance to move up a lot. Good songs, but then I rarely listen to them.

Slit Your Guts is probably my favorite song from them.
I'm so psyched because I'm seeing Dimmu Borgir tonight with Behemoth. I haven't seen either in a while and Dimmu's new album is truly a masterpiece of black metal.

Amazing show! Behemoth slayed as did Dimmu. My only complaint is that Dimmu really has to start changing up their set list. They pretty much played the same set that they played the last time I saw them, with a few exceptions. Still amazing though. Hellhammer from Mayhem was drumming for them and he was god like.

Well, it's Hellhammer, what would you expect? He's always been one of my favorite drummers in the scene, right behind Frost and Faust.

Yeah, Hellhammer is amazing. So are Faust and Frost. Faust's playing on In The Nightside Eclipse is awesome. My other favorite drummers include Gene Hoglan, Sean Reinert, Inferno, Tony Laureno, Derek Roddy, Horgh, Flo Mounier, Pete Sandoval, Nick Barker, Raymond Herrera, and Paul Bostaph

FAust is a homophobic murderer. Why shuld I care about his drumming skills?
Evidently Hitler was a painter, but you don't hear too much debate about the quality of his work.

Well, I didn't say I condone what he did, I just think he's a good drummer.

Fair enough.
why no love for Richard Christy, though? After Pete Sndoval I would say he is my favorite in the genre.

I actually totally forgot about Richard Christy. But he's played on some on my favorite albums like Death's Sound of Perseverence, Acheron's Anti-God, Anti Christ, and Iced Earth's Horror Show. Awesome drummer. I wish he would form or join another band.

I think that he's semi-retired from the music business and is working for the Howard Stern show exclusively now. I wish he would make music again, too

So, where is the Doom Metal thread? As far as my favorite drummer from the genre, Flo Mounier. Cryptopsy really doesn't do anything for me, but I highly respect the talent of the band, especially Flo.

One I really like that also gets no respect is Greg Gall from 6FU. Not overly technical or mind-blowing with the blast-beats, but he's perfect for the style of the band and can do those when required.
Other top picks: Aantor Coates (Diabolic) Vitek (Decapitated) Namroth Blackthorn (Enthroned) Adrian Erlandsson (Cradle of Filth) Dave Lombardo (Slayer)

Yeah, Greg Gall is good at what he does, his playing on the new album Commandment is as rock solid as ever. I agree with all your other picks too. Adrian Erlandsson was great in Cradle and At The Gates, sucks that he left Cradle though. Aantar is good, but a little overrated in my opinion. His playing on Subteranneal Magnitude is awesome but his playing on Vengeance Ascending and the Unholy Ghost album Torrential Reign is a little sloppy. Good to hear he got Diabolic together again with a decent line-up. I've always felt that they were the most underrated death meatl band ever.

Diabolic is a favorite of mine when I want modern-sounding old-school DM. Vengeance especially, which is where I put him on. The blasting on there is pretty infectious and I really enjoy it, although that could be the fact that I love the mix on that album. Really glad to hear their reformation as well.
Seem to have omitted another real favorite: Reno Kiilerich, especially his time with Exmortem. I think he's done Illdisposed and Dimmu Borgir as well, but he bounces around too much and really needs to be in a solid line-up.
