Yeah, last I heard Reno joined Hate Eternal. I think he's sticking with them.

I hope so. He's one of the few that I wouldn't mind replacing Derek. Two phenomenal talents there.

Yeah, Derek is amazing. His playing on Malevolent Creation's Eternal album is awesome too. Anyone who doesn't know who Derek Roddy is, watch and worship. youtube.com/watch?v=KWpXxRbn1gc

Eternal is one of the few MC albums I don't have. Really want to, though, since it's MC and Derek.

Time to get this thread rolling again. Name some of your favorite metal bass players/ It's an overlooked instrument in the genre and there are some awesome players.
My list is as follows:
1. Cliff Burton(Metallica) - The greatest bass player to walk the earth. R.I.P. 2. Alex Webster(Cannibal Corpse)- Just watch the free dvd that comes with The Wretched Spawn. Dude is phenomenal. 3. Steve Digiorgio(Death, Testament, Sadus, Iced Earth,). God of fretless bass. 4. Vortex(Dimmu Borgir)-He doesn't get mentioned alot but he's awesome. Plays some really tricky basslines, sometimes while singing. 5. Tony Choy(Atheist, Cynic) 6. Sean Malone(Cynic) 7. Cronos(Venom) 8. Jeff Beccera(Possessed) 9. Steve Harris(Iron Maiden)

Hmm, gonna have to dip into Thrash to fill out a top ten, but I feel fine with that:
1. Cliff Burton-"Master of Puppets." 'Nuff said. 2. Alex Webster-One of the few bassists that can play solos live. 3. DD Verni-I just have a huge Overkill love, but their heaviness isn't lost on me at any rate. 4. Steve Tucker-I'm not a huge MA fan, but there's a lot of pretty heavy songs in there from him. 5. Steve Digiorgio-Creates some pretty heavy and memorable riffs, plus always finds himself in great bands. 6. Tom Araya-I think he's pretty underrated, and he's created some memorable riffs in his own right. 7. Blasphemer-Another underrated one, lot of really tricky spots and moments. 8. Sean Malone-Mainly due to a big love of the "Human" album, which is a heavy album that I really love. 9. Jeff Walker-Not stand-outish or anything, but still gets some good licks in now and then. 10. ICS Vortex-Still good, but would like him to stick out more in the group.
