For the Zombie section:
What's your favorite zombie movie?
No brainer for me: my favorite film Zombie 2, followed by Premutos: Lord of the Living Dead, Burial Ground, Return of the Blind Dead and Let Sleeping Corpses Lie.
What's your favorite zombie movie?

Thats a touch one. I would probably have to go with The Beyond though.

Toads love zombies. All those titles are great (although I haven't seen Premutos yet - it is on wish list for next month's DVD binge).
Call me unimaginative though, but I just can't go past DOTD (78) - that was the high water mark in zombie movies for me.
Though I also have a soft spot for Burial Ground, Return of the Living Dead and the more recent Undead.

I do love DOTD '78, but I love the supernatural and apocalyptic feel of The Beyond. Fulci just nails the atmosphere of a zombie film perfectly. I think DOTD '78 comes in with a close second.

Wow, that's the easiest question I've ever answered. Dawn of the Dead '78 is not only my favorite horror film but my all time favorite movie ever. It's one of the greatest american films ever made. My other faves include: Day of the Dead, Zombie, Return of the Living Dead, Dead Alive, both Night of the Living Deads, Messiah of Evil, The Dead Next Door, Land of the Dead, and Hell of the Living Dead.

Ooooh yair. Forgot the Savini version of Night of the Living Dead. GL put me onto that one and the DVD quickly moved to top-shelf status.

You're welcome, Toad. Love to help out the family.
And Premutos will quickly become a gore classic in your household. A body count that rivals Jason Voorhees' entire career, and in just one film!!!

Oh, yeah, I love that one. Would be number 1 but can't match the suspense ratched from Fulci's classic. ;D

For me it is a toss up between the original DOTD and NOTLD. It depends on my mood a any given time which of those 2 I prefer, but I consider them both head and shoulders above any other zombie film

Good films, but I just prefer the Italian way of making them. But they're great films as well.

Yea, I love George A. Romero and his little political commentaries he slides into his films, but when Im really in the mood for zombie movie I want some intense atmosphere and zombies that really look like zombies. To me, Dawn Of The Dead has always felt more like an action film. Not in a bad way though, because it is one of my all time favorite films. DOTD sort of falls into a category on its own.

True about that. After the opening raid in the apartment buildings, there's no real scares or suspense for the rest of the film. The gathering of the trucks generates a little, but none of the other scenes is really that frightening.

Didn't we have a thread - a long time ago, on a board far, far away - in which most members said virtually nothing frightens them anymore???
