Dunno. I haven't seen the film yet. Sounds really bizarre that they would try to sell the movie with a plot point that may or may not even exist. Hmmmm.

I finally saw this one tonight and I suppose I'll add my thoughts to the film.
I very much disliked it. It is true that I am not a fan of Zombie (with the glowing exception of The Devil's Rejects), but I can't in good faith recommend this film to someone. To tell you the truth, I don't really even know what happened in it - if there was a plot, it sure went over my head.
Another prime example of Zombie's signature white-trash filmmaking. It seems like he tries to take the American low-life and somehow make it interesting enough to continually make films about it. Well, he isn't Bukowski. In fact, there is one thing distinctly missing from Zombie's films that the poet laureate of skid row implicitly contained - a sense of fun! I mean, damn . . . watching Zombie films would be the best primer to suicide. If you weren't sure about the decision, just watch Halloween II and soon you'll find yourself more than willing to drop that toaster in the bathtub.
That's what this film is - trademark Zombie cynicism oozing from the seams perpetuated by trailer trash.

I just saw it last night, and boy was it awful. And it was a real dissapointment too, because it has an amazing opening sequence. The first half hour of the film might be one of the best sequences I've ever seen in a slasher film. Then out of nowhere they just negate everything that they started and replace it with stupid exposition about Michael Myers, they make Laurie Strode a genuinely unlikeable character, and they completely shit on Dr. Loomis and turn him into a n exploitative asshole hybrid of Nancy Grace and Dr. Phil.
This movie wound up really sucking. I was not expecting much out of it, so that wouldn't have really bothered me, except like I said, the opening of this film offered what looked like it was going to be a hell oif a film and then just completely backed away from that and went with nothing interesting at all

I don't know about you HNT, but I found the female leads to be insufferable.

Absolutely. I don't think I ever would have liked the original if JLC had to act the way Scout TAylor Compton (or whatever the broad's name is) has to act in this one

She's sooooo bad. I actually think that a darker Laurie would be pretty interesting, if a better actress was in the role and it was written better.

This movie was so bad the Weinsteins stopped prodcution of Halloween 3 in 2009 due to this films piss poor reception. I wanted tolike this movie, i'm all for a new vision of Michael Myers but this wasn't a new vision of him, this was just rape. The fact that he seemed more like Jason than Michael Myers was strike 1 strike 2 was the halluisnations and grunting so loudly! and strike 3 was him talking as an adult. Also everyone was at their worst here except Douriff. Macdowell and Compton really disappointed me here becuase I liked them in 1 but here it was like they knew it was bad. Michael Myers looked like a homeless man, if tehy stuck with they way he looked in the hospital I wouldve tolerated him much better and then him unmasked looked alot like every other Rob Zombie male lead, long hair and a beard and they resemble Charles Manson.

I always thought Michael was a homeless man? Or a man who squats in abandoned houses at least. Didn't realize he stayed at the Marriot in between killing sprees.

Finnally I can vent!!! Im sorryI liked NOT LOVED RZ's Halloween but this was an abomination the the entire franchise I hold it down there with Ressurection. I cant see Laurie Strode as a whiney little emo brat. The only thing I liked is after watching her and wasting those precious moments of my life I was glad to see her get blitzed in the end.

I am glad I am not the only one. I have had people tell me how much they enjoyed it, and it really annoys me that, as CK said, the last one wasn't bad. This one was pure garbage.
