Yeah, I am having a hell of a lot of fun with that one myself. Also, did you get the 360 Elite, Pro, or Arcade? If you tgot one of the versions that has a hard drive (the arcade does not and is cheaper) then you should keep in mind that you can play original xBox games as well. Most of those are really cheap these days and can be purchased for $5 bucks and sometimes even less than that We just went ahead and bought the Elite, seemed the best option.

I have the other xBox Pirate game. Black Cat or whatever it was. It was not a strategy game and wasn't taht great. I spent most of it battling giant crabs and shit. I loved the old Sid Meier Pirates game on my computer back in the 80's. I'm sure the update is sweet as well. I have to ask, though, now that strategy games have become more complex, has Pirates been updated enough that it isn't too simplistic? And if it has, have they come up with a way for you to properly navigate strategy menus and make real time changes using a control pad instead of a keyboard? If so, I am definitely interested and will get it right away

If you were a fan of the original you'll love the update. Pretty much the same with way better graphics and a few more things to do like hunt famous historical pirates like Blackbeard and Henry Morgan. And yes it works well with the xbox controller. I had it for pc when it first came out and the controls work much better with the xbox, they handled it well. Only problem is I guess the xbox version never sold too well or somethin cuz it was hard to find even online. I ended up having to get it used on amazon so I suggest that route. I think I still got it for just like $10 or $20, well worth it. And yeah I had the Blaxk kat pirates game for Ps2. It doesn't hold a candle to the sid meiers pirates update. Update: I just checked and amazon actually has the xbox version in stock now but they're charging a ridiculous $40. Just click the used link at the bottom and there's like 5 people selling it for $12. I got mine used and it's still playing fine.

Yeah, I never buy new from Amazon. If this game is worth it, maybe I'll try to pick it up when I go get Trick r Treat this weekend. I hate ordering games online because I am all about instant gratification. If I can't find it at Gamestop I might go that route, tho

I haven't seen the xbox version in a store in years, but good luck. I agree games are a pain to wait for to be delivered. And don't forget ironman lol!

Just pickled up a bunch of 'em this weekend.
1) Rockstar Table Tennis. Hey, it got great reviews and for 6 bucks why not give it a go?
2) Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. This game also includes the complete game Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher Bay with updated HD graphics. I haven't fully gotten into it yet, but this is literally like 30 plus hours of gaming, and they both great games. Since this only costs $26 bucks these days, there is really no good reason not to check it out.
3) GTA IV - I don't now why, but I never find myself having all that much fun with GTA games so I waited to buy this one. I always appreciate the artistry and think that they are spectacularly inventive and well designed, but it is always a little disappointing that at the core they are really just driving games with bad physics and controls. Somehow, this one seems to be more than that. THe story is better developed and mixed in with the cheezy jokes are some characters with real personalities that it is possible to care about. As the main character gets unwillingly dragged into criminal activity, it is actually hard not to feel bad for him. At the price that it is selling for now I couldn't resist
Condemned 2: Bloodshot - well, I really got a kick out of the first, and this is supposed to be a near 100% improvement so I picked it up for 12 bucks. Hard to resist that.
Brutal Legend - I love Jack Black, I love metal, and Tim Schaffer's last game Psychonauts is still one of my all time favorites. Basically, this one was tailor made to get me to pay the full 60 bucks to get it the weekend it was released. I did, but I have been very patient and haven't plaed it yet. I really can't wait

Oh and we found a copy of Condemned Criminal Origins ridiculously cheap, haven't played it yet though. I have been playing Dead Space....and this game totally wrecks my nerves.....LOL....pretty scary. Unfortunately, I am stuck....has anyone else played it, someone that maybe has a few helpful hints to help me in Chapter 4, when you have to use the cannon to shoot the asteroids? The damn thing keeps overheating on me as I am firing on the bigger ones, and they get through.

GTA IV was really good. The story, city and pedestrians were well done. They're gonna have to do something big for the next one though so it doesn't get even more tired. They at least should let you create your dude.
San Andreas was actually my favorite, I think I mainly liked the California setting. The set up with three medium sized cities seperated by large distances of mountains, forests, deserts, and farming communities (all exploreable) was awesome. I wonder what the setting will be for the next one.
I have Saints Row 2 on it's way in the mail and am eager to see how it compares to GTA.
Haven't played it Jen but try gamefaqs.com

Yeah, Left 4 Dead is a great multiplayer experience. I wish that they had created more of a single player mode for the game, as online gaming is not something that I can get into too often (I find that too many of the games are populated by racist 12 year olds screaming obscenities the whole time), but it is great at what it does A single player game would have been a nice addition to the game. I enjoy the multi-player option as vs the single player. You're right, playing online, you have to contend wit the immaturity and juvenile hi-jinks of the unwashed masses. so far, I've come across little of that in L4Dead. I don't have Teasmspeak, which makes can be more of an annoyance that a help. Right now, I'm playing Call of Duty: World at War. Another solid entry in the COD series. Anxiously awaiting Call of Duy: Modern Warfare 2 and Left 4 Dead 2!

The best tip I can give you as I haven't playd the game is jsut to check online for a walkthrough guide. You can download free guides for pretty much every game ever. Condemned you will love, I think. As for Brutal Legend, I will let you know as soon as I get around to playing it. YOu should definitely pick up Psychonauts, though, if you haven't played it yet. I think that game is simply amazing

Thanks guys. *sighs* Already tried gamefaqs.com and a couple of other forums and walkthroughs, they helped, but I can't find any hints to avoid the overheating problem. Oh well, sure I will figure it out eventually.
And we will look for Psychonauts HNT.

Found this Jen, does it help?
"Beat it on the first try, on hard. The spacewalk before it gave me more trouble than the shooting part. Trick is to time your use of each barrel so that you use the left barrel for meteors on the left, right barrel for those on the right. You have infinite ammunition but the only thing you need to worry about is overheating, so you can't hold down both triggers and fill the screen with bullets. I actually have my mouse sensitivity set really low, because I hate how erratic the aiming in this game can be. With low sensitivity, short movements of my hand will be very subtle, while sharper movements of my hand will cover more distance in the game. Wider range of reactions. One more thing, you don't need to destroy every meteor, if you shoot one in the side and drive it off the left or right edge. Think of it as shooting pool."
