looks like us southern folk are getting a cinema release dec 6, which makes perfect sense, 6 weeks after Halloween, 3 weeks before christmas maybe we'll get the Black Christmas remake sometime next march, right around easter, and Prom Night the following Valentine's Day.

Enjoy, Matt. I certainly understand why they didn't try a Halloween release for this one now, though. As much as I do not really care for the Saw franchise, Saw 4 will almost definitely be way better and more succesful than this was.

Looks fine, but I don't really like foreign posters all that much. One screenshot blown up and placed with lettering and titles doesn't get me excited for the film. I like artwork rather than just a picture.

just got back from seeing it.......and was actually suprised. I didnt hate it nowhere near as much as i thought i would.........
I thought young Michael was great and frankly i couldnt wait to see him kill the family, although the bit when he touched Judith's leg was really too much, but exactly what i expect from Zombie( a big part of why i really dont like him), and i thought his mums fate was ultimately disappointing.
The one thing i really did hate is the fact that almost every female who was killed died naked, its one thing to have the nude scenes but when the victims get attacked undressed it makes it sleazy, exploitive and almost unbearable to watch, these scenes took away from what was really a solid slasher film- Halloween or not.
Tyler Mane i must say makes for a pretty good Michael.
One other thing when exactly is this movie set? The soundtrack for Michael's childhood almost certainly sets it the 70's but if its 15 years (or was it 17 they couldnt seem to make up their minds)later that would make the latter half of the film take place in the 90's.
Speaking of soundtracks couldnt they have picked a better Alice song than Only Women Bleed? Tag........ Youre it would have been perfect..........'There's a very Hungry Man in the cellar.........waiting.............or is he in the attic or closet ..........waiting'

Every woman dies naked, huh? Now it just bumped up the list remarkably. It's the exploitative fare I love.

almost every,,,,,,,,this was the most Rob Zombie element i was afraid of going in ......and he didn't disapoint.........by that i mean he did.
I mean when you think about it what is the first argument that is leveled against the horror genre and the slashers in particular? Misogynism-sexism against women rah, rah, rah, but the fact is when you see scenes like this you can not help agree with it.
what else can you say ?Annie was naked cause Michael told her to be?You know that ain't the truth. The truth is that a 14 year old boy can not see that association , i know because i was 14 once, and used to love it when the victims got naked................. but i'm not 14 anymore...................
Don't get me wrong i love women,I love the female form, but i can't stand seeing them treated like a piece of meat before they become it.
I don't mean any disrespect , its just the way i see it, because i grew up with a single mother, with two sisters and my closest ally on earth happens to be a (very attractive) chick.

That could be just reading a little too much into it. Sure, it might cross a line where it becomes misogyny, but what about simply showing nudity for the sake of having nudity? Has that become an outdated idea? That's the actress' choice to do so, she's not pressured into those scenes (which is where they cross the line in my book) and if they're comfortable with it, I'm comfortable with it.

Seeing it tomorrow night, so obviously I'll reserve judgement. And Matt I've got in-season passes (Australia-wide) for it if you want them or have any mates your way who could use them? Various colleagues at the paper donated the ones they got from Roadshow thinking I was the prime suspect for such a film... ended up with 14 tickets!

???Sorry guys I put this in the wrong thread so I copied and pasted t to here, sorry about that. Okay no offense guys but I am going to ignore everything that was said in this thread so far. I just bought the 2 disc unrated DVD and watched it. I haven't watched disc 2 yet so I haven't seen the alt. ending. BUT as far as the film goes here is what I have to say...... Well first off I didn't go into this as looking at it as a remake, but as a retelling. So in seeing Micheal killing animals, being perverted didn't bother me as much as others. I mean come on who are we to judge from the original how his family life was, they never really went there did they. They never said Michaels mom was a sleeper or not. I mean come on they only uttered one word and that was his name. With that being said, I can believe that a crazed killer come from a family as Rob put it than a "normal family". The fact that Micheal did talk a bit to Loomis a getting less and less as time went on seemed to be more believable to me anyway. I think as horror fans we thought too much about this one (Yes Conan I know I am going to eat crow cause of my views on DOTD remake) But this in a way isn't really a remake but a prequel. It didn't work for Lucas, but IMO it did work for Zombie. GO ON ROB MAKE ROSENTHAL PROD AND TACKLE HALLOWEEN II !!!!!!!!!!!!

I am amazed by that review, CK. I think this is probably the worst of a long list of totally pointless and unnecessary remakes. This was bad enough that I actually hope that Rob Zombie suffers for making me watch his Piece of Shit film.
