Every woman dies naked, huh? Now it just bumped up the list remarkably. I think I'm going to need a shower after that.

Gl, you have to admit that the quote that he found was pretty unflattering. I am not one to judge as you know, but that quote was pretty out there and his response made me checkle. That's all

Hmm, while Laz doesn't think so, there's nothing wrong with enjoying a little sleaze every now and then. Something like this could definitely provide that.

I finally got around to seeing this a while ago but never got around to posting about it. One of the things I really responded to in the original was the lack of background on Michael, from all appearances his home looked stable, his parents looked respectable bur for some unknown reason he did the unthinkable. His motives are never referred to as anything other than evil and the Shape is the archetypal Boogey/Bogie Man as a result. All that 'Me Ma was a stripper and Me Daddy was a prick so I torture animals, have a problem with the world and now I've grown into a seven foot monster filled with brooding anger and menace!' business dispelled any element of mystery. On the boob level I think CK's pic a couple of posts above probably reflects Rob Zombie's own mentality when it comes to horror flicks and that's fine, we (almost) all like booby. Unfortunately his lascivious 'homage' to Parts 4 & 5 in the form of Danielle Harris finally getting hers in rather lude and unpleasant fashion at the hands of the Shape was, for me, utterly tasteless and when he was formulating that scene in his head he should have gone for a very cold shower.
I do reckon that Rob Zombie has some talent as a director but after two extremely derivative horror flicks and this joyless remake I'm getting less and less interested in his output.

Exactly. The remake was about as subtle as a hammer to the head. And my husband, somewhat to my surprise because it usually takes quite a bit to bother him, actually really disliked the way Danielle Harris's character was treated in the film. As much as I did like The Devil's Rejects (and still do) I'm beginning to agree about being less and less interested in what he has to offer. I still think he has potential, and he does have talent. He is just focusing that talent in the wrong direction, in my opinion. He really should have left Halloween alone. And I would say maybe he learned a lesson, but I'm sure all he learned was how easy it was to bank on the success of a much greater horror film. Too bad really.

Yeah, it's inda hard to think that he will have learned a lesson abot making utter garbage considering his remake was hugely profitable and succesful. As far as I'm concerned, the emperor now has no clothes and I see Zombie for the worthless hack that he likely always was

A 3 from me. Entertaining enough but nothing to really make me love the movie......if only it had Busta Rhymes doing kung-fu.
