I just hate pretentious punk crap. Except The Ramones, Misfits, Black Flag, and Sex Pistols. The rest of it sucks hard. I'm also pretty sure Bea Arthur shat Jello out. He's the biggest douche bag I've ever seen.

Everyone always talks about The Ramones. I personally think all their songs sound the same. They have a couple of good songs and thats it. Why do you hate Jello so much?

I love the Ramones too. They laid the groundwork for so many bands that I love. Obviously he hates Jello, becasue Jello has something to say. Anybody who could find pleasure in the obscene spectacle of KISS running around in absurd makeup and prattling on about chicks and parties would never get Jello. KISS represents everything that Jello is against

I get it. Still think The Ramones are over-rated though. They laid the ground work, true. But everything sounds the same. There are only a few good songs that stick out.

True The Ramones songs all sounded the same, but when you think about it so di AC/DC!! But even with that being said, they are still one of the greatest metal bands ever. I know I am going to be crucified for this, but I happen to like KISS, I wouldnt pay to see them, but I do like them. As far as them being sellouts, at least they admit it, it's kind of hard not to LOL.

Thats cool. I was stupid for saying they were sellouts though. lol. Cuz as HNT pointed out, they were sellouts from the very beginning with all their dolls and stuff. Never been a fan of AC/DC either. I admit they have good songs, but not enough to make me a fan.

Same here with AC/DC, LdC. A couple good songs, but not enough to make me go get a CD or something of theirs. A GH maybe, but not a full-length album.

All the Ramones songs sounded the same way, but it was done on purpose as a statement. It was saying that you didn't have to be a good musician to express yourself artistically through music.

lol. Maybe they were trying to say that you don't have to be good muscians to be able to have a huge following of fans and have your own comic books.

I'd be willing to bet money when LDC, GL, and CT get closer to our ages their music tastes will change dramatically.

Maybe, though I still love much of the stuff I listened to 20 years ago... perhaps that's part of the problem! I'm becoming my parents but with a bent towards hard pub rock and metal.

I'd be willing to bet money when LDC, GL, and CT get closer to our ages their music tastes will change dramatically. No question that will happen. I don't know if they'll ever grow to love the Ramones though. They are correct that the Ramones have a pretty generic sound. CT is correct, however, that this was intentional and they actively simplified their musical approach to make a statement against all of the overblown pretentious art rock crap from the mid seventies. It might just be the kind of thing that you had to be there to really appreciate, though. If you have a feeling for just how lame the seventies were (precisely because of theatrical crap like Yes and Kiss) then you can't help but love the Ramones for telling all of those pussies to shove it
