Yeah, I've heard Immortal Technique. They are pretty cool. Thing is, though, you don't really have to be angry to have good political lyrics. Check out Sonic Youth's Do you Believe in Rapture? to hear a more subtle challenge to christian conservative politics

I don't believe in rapture though.lol Not all Immortal's lyrics have a real angry tone though. Check out Poverty of Philosophy. One of the best songs ever.

Yeah, I love Immortal Technique and Poverty of Philosophy is awesome. The homoephobia in some of his lyrics bothers me too, but I guess you'll unfortunately find that in the latino and african american communities.

Indeed. There are alot of other good hip hop artists and groups like Immortal Technique. Look for NightWalker.

Common, Talib Qweli, and Pharoah Monch are also pretty solid conscious rappers. Of course you can also go Public Enemy and KRS 1 if you're willing to go oldschool.

"In school they never taught 'bout hamburgers or steak,
Elijah Muhammed or the welfare state,
but I know.
And I know because of KRS-1."
Hahahaha, hell yeah.

Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions, and KRS-1's solo efforts are all favorites of mine!
